Perhon Kiri's Miska Tallus got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Keijo Helenius struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Paul Joenväärä didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perhon Kiri. 16 minutes into the match, Tasavallan Presidentit's goal looked a bit too open when Keijo Helenius came free, but Paul Joenväärä reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juhapekka Kangaskorpi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paul Joenväärä showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keijo Helenius, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Iivo Alenius hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. When Riku Kuusinen fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tasavallan Presidentit's protests and gave Riku Kuusinen a yellow card for diving instead. Uoti Sauso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Verneri Lähteenmäki in the 39th minute of the match. Kustavi Siivonen kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Verneri Lähteenmäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uoti Sauso having to interfere. Tasavallan Presidentit's Paul Joenväärä proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Tasavallan Presidentit from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Elmeri Ojanen made a great header on Perhon Kiri's corner, it was just that Tasavallan Presidentit's Paul Joenväärä managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 59th minute, Keijo Helenius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paul Joenväärä made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keijo Helenius in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute Miska Tallus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Joenväärä saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, Tasavallan Presidentit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Teräs to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Verneri Lähteenmäki in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uoti Sauso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iivo Alenius kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 78th minute of the match Allan Teräs shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Uoti Sauso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Tasavallan Presidentit booed when Perhon Kiri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Einari Läänelä didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Juhapekka Kangaskorpi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tasavallan Presidentit's supporters rose to their feet, but Juhapekka Kangaskorpi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uoti Sauso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute Verneri Lähteenmäki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uoti Sauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Iivo Alenius had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Joni Karvonen kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Perhon Kiri's Elmeri Ojanen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tasavallan Presidentit. Einari Läänelä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Joenväärä having to interfere. Miska Tallus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 96 minutes, Kustavi Siivonen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perhon Kiri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kustavi Siivonen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Perhon Kiri players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
