Tino Timoska fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pellervo Välivaara having to interfere. Kari Laitila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iiro Rovio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Osmo Jämsä came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Pink Gorillas Utd. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osmo Jämsä couldn't finish the play. Tino Timoska might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pellervo Välivaara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tino Timoska ran back to his position shaking his head. Kari Laitila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iiro Rovio, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pink Gorillas Utd.'s zone, Mika Riippa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kari Laitila came out of the goal and Mika Riippa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st match minute, Vepo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petteri Andersson to maneuver through the defense. After 32 minutes, Daniel Huttunen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pink Gorillas Utd. and the Vepo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 32 played minutes Pink Gorillas Utd. got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Huttunen.
