In the 25th minute Kullervo Jämsänen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eeli Wallen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Kullervo Jämsänen came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Syrjäntaka FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kullervo Jämsänen couldn't finish the play. After having played for 38 minutes, Ale Kimmonen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nalkki FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ale Kimmonen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Syrjäntaka FC's Paul Ruhanen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atso Tuuri in the 41st minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After some careless play in the Syrjäntaka FC defense, Ale Kimmonen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paul Ruhanen. The Syrjäntaka FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paul Ruhanen should have stopped the shot. Eeli Wallen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Syrjäntaka FC. Antto Salo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eeli Wallen having to interfere. Eeli Wallen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antto Salo in the 77th minute. Elmer Viitakoski hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute Atso Tuuri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Ruhanen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Syrjäntaka FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Kari Jansson hit a great ball. Paul Ruhanen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ale Kimmonen, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Atso Tuuri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Ruhanen having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Samuli Kaipainen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nalkki FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Syrjäntaka FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
