The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FC Daas's Niko Reponen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save FC Daas from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Jouko Nybacka got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Harri Tuomisalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niko Reponen having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harri Tuomisalo got free with Niko Reponen in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th match minute, FC Daas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orvo Lydman to maneuver through the defense. Atro Paatelainen hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. When Esa Kamppuri came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Ihme FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esa Kamppuri couldn't finish the play. Niko Reponen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tero Haanpää, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
