Ville Palo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gabriel Torkkeli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ville Palo in the 12th minute of play. If Jouni Murto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Turo Rajamäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauno Hannula having to interfere. Gabriel Torkkeli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jouni Lepistö in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lapinniemi's zone, Jouni Lepistö stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Torkkeli came out of the goal and Jouni Lepistö tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Rovevaara FC fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Rovevaara FC's Ville Palo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ville Palo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gabriel Torkkeli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mauno Hannula made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turo Rajamäki in the 40th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Jouni Murto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lapinniemi's supporters rose to their feet, but Jouni Murto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauno Hannula breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Rovevaara FC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Lapinniemi's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Atso Kamppunen took the corner. Eino Rissanen tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Gabriel Torkkeli. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 55th minute. Jouni Lepistö fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Torkkeli having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Lapinniemi's goal looked a bit too open when Ville Palo came free, but Gabriel Torkkeli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauno Hannula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jouni Murto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Turo Rajamäki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Lapinniemi's Einari Kiuru tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
