Petri Paaso acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 9th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Atso Kamppunen. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eero Hassinen during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rovevaara FC's Eero Hassinen got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Petri Paaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alpo Lyytikäinen in the 37th minute of the match. Petri Paaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ville Palo in the 38th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Ville Palo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rovevaara FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ville Palo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kimi Suominen to make the kick off. Mauno Hannula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kimi Suominen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Riku Ollonen kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Rovevaara FC were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Rautuskylä's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Atso Kamppunen took the corner. If Ville Palo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Riku Ollonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes Rautuskylä got a freekick which was hit by Jari Salmi. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Rovevaara FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rautuskylä:s goal. Ville Palo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Petri Paaso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kimi Suominen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
