Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Timo Askolin kicked off to start the match. Urmas Laakso kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. The supporters of Saynetkoski booed when Storsjön FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raimo Eronen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 9 minutes, Atro Virtala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saynetkoski's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atro Virtala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Storsjön FC's goalkeeper Vesa Korkeamäki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Atro Virtala. Vesa Korkeamäki made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Atro Virtala sent off a good shot on target. Vesa Korkeamäki was a little too slow when Risto Pentsinen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-0. Atro Virtala took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vesa Korkeamäki. Vesa Korkeamäki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 35th minute, Risto Pentsinen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vesa Korkeamäki. The goal made the score 3-0. 40 minutes into the match, Timo Askolin notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Saynetkoski's Risto Ruuttu. Risto Ruuttu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Timo Askolin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Risto Ruuttu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Vesa Korkeamäki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teemu Hannus in the 52nd minute of play. In the 58th minute Timo Askolin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Risto Ruuttu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Timo Askolin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Risto Ruuttu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timo Askolin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Arvo Pihlainen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Risto Pentsinen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vesa Korkeamäki having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Storsjön FC's zone, Atro Virtala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vesa Korkeamäki came out of the goal and Atro Virtala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Timo Askolin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Risto Ruuttu managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Storsjön FC's Arvo Pihlainen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Rasmus Litmanen fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saynetkoski's protests and gave Rasmus Litmanen a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 played minutes Saynetkoski got a freekick which was hit by Rasmus Litmanen. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timo Askolin during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 88 played minutes Storsjön FC got a freekick which was hit by Timo Askolin. Risto Ruuttu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arvo Pihlainen in the 93rd minute. Storsjön FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
