Panu Hulkkonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Panu Hulkkonen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Yrjö Kamppuri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ilari Kaikkonen charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ilari Kaikkonen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Strandkroken IFK booed when Variksenkylä FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilari Kaikkonen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 14 minutes, Jani Tuomainen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strandkroken IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jani Tuomainen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tero Hannukainen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juho Kiuru, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Strandkroken IFK's goalkeeper Yrjö Kamppuri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Reima Puranen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Yrjö Kamppuri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Strandkroken IFK's Yrjö Kamppuri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joonatan Ahola in the 23rd minute of play. Yrjö Kamppuri made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Panu Hulkkonen sent off a good shot on target. Yrjö Kamppuri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joonatan Ahola in the 26th minute of the match. Juho Kiuru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Juho Kiuru came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Strandkroken IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juho Kiuru couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute, Variksenkylä FC's Joonatan Ahola dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 37 minutes into the match, Strandkroken IFK's goalkeeper Yrjö Kamppuri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Panu Hulkkonen. After 41 minutes of play, Strandkroken IFK's Juho Kiuru made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tero Hannukainen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jani Tuomainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Tero Hannukainen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Jani Tuomainen made the kick off in the second half. If Joonatan Ahola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juho Kiuru might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tero Hannukainen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juho Kiuru ran back to his position shaking his head. Jani Tuomainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Yrjö Kamppuri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panu Hulkkonen in the 67th minute of play. Juho Kiuru scored 1-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tero Hannukainen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jani Tuomainen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 93rd minute Joonatan Ahola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yrjö Kamppuri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Strandkroken IFK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Variksenkylä FC.
