The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alpi Pitkämäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mika Palander having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heikki Siponen in the 8th minute of play forced Valkeakosken Haka's goalkeeper Einari Willman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Heikki Siponen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mika Palander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alpi Pitkämäki, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Alpi Pitkämäki recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mika Palander. Alpi Pitkämäki showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After some careless play in the Valkeakosken Haka defense, Heikki Siponen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Einari Willman. The Valkeakosken Haka fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Einari Willman should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute Heikki Siponen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Einari Willman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valkeakosken Haka's Jesse Ripatti got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Fesbra FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Pietari Rauvola hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Fesbra FC's Sakari Lampi got a free kick in the 39th minute. Heikki Siponen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Einari Willman having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Valkeakosken Haka's goal looked a bit too open when Marko Ikola came free, but Einari Willman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Alpi Pitkämäki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Mika Palander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Heikki Siponen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marko Ikola succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 62nd playminute. Juha-Pekka Siltavirta kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Aaro Saastamoinen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Einari Willman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Fesbra FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Marko Ikola hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Fesbra FC defense, Alpi Pitkämäki kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mika Palander. The Fesbra FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mika Palander should have stopped the shot. When Fesbra FC's Marko Ikola, in the 89th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Fesbra FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vilho Saarela during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 90th minute, Vilho Saarela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
