The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vesa Wallenius in the 4th minute of play forced Pitkäkangas's goalkeeper Jorma Kotilahti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kyösti Tuovinen came free with the goalkeeper in the 5th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jorma Kotilahti could save by the left post. Valentin Vehanen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Pitkäkangas's Jaakko Kahra got a free kick in the 10th minute. Real Madrid CF's Iiro Pärssinen suffered a sore thigh after 12 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Juhani Nummelin's late challenge caught a Real Madrid CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juhani Nummelin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Pitkäkangas getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Juhani Nummelin hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Kyösti Tuovinen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute, Kyösti Tuovinen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Madrid CF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Kyösti Tuovinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorma Kotilahti made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Kyösti Tuovinen sent off a good shot on target. Veikka Jaakkola charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Veikka Jaakkola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes Pitkäkangas got a freekick which was hit by Veikka Jaakkola. When Pitkäkangas's Aappo Ojala in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Real Madrid CF's goalie prevented a goal. If Kyösti Tuovinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Real Madrid CF's Harri Uusitalo got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 42 in the game by Kyösti Tuovinen from a close distance when the talented Jorma Kotilahti managed to make a qualified save. Pitkäkangas's players were relieved. After having played for 44 minutes, Vesa Wallenius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Madrid CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vesa Wallenius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Pitkäkangas's Jorma Kotilahti got control of the ball when Kyösti Tuovinen tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eetu Savijoki to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valentin Vehanen during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Real Madrid CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Vehanen to maneuver through the defense. Kyösti Tuovinen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Jorma Kotilahti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sampsa Berg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eetu Savijoki in the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Pitkäkangas's Eetu Savijoki dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 76th minute Valentin Vehanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorma Kotilahti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaakko Kahra during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 78th minute, Jaakko Kahra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rami Tikkanen was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 79th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Kyösti Tuovinen came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Real Madrid CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyösti Tuovinen couldn't finish the play. If Valentin Vehanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kyösti Tuovinen hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Pitkäkangas's Aappo Ojala was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 88th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Sampsa Berg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eetu Savijoki in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute of the match Uuno Alin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sampsa Berg skillfully saved the ball. Although Real Madrid CF had been in control for most of the match, Pitkäkangas still came away with the win.
