If Ilkka Seppo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Fc Baljars's Aleksis Nylund threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ilkka Seppo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aleksanteri Riippa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksis Nylund having to interfere. Aleksanteri Riippa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Aleksis Nylund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ilkka Seppo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Fc Baljars defense, Manne Ruutu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rauli Varis. The Fc Baljars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rauli Varis should have stopped the shot. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fc Baljars's goalkeeper Rauli Varis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 37 minutes of play, Kaunaa FC's Manne Ruutu made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rauli Varis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Manne Ruutu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Väinö Sainio's late challenge caught a Kaunaa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Väinö Sainio helped the player get up and apologised. Väinö Sainio hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Esa Rajamäki in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rauli Varis saved Fc Baljars from getting behind.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Esa Rajamäki was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Fc Baljars's Benjamin Hietaharju got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute, Esa Rajamäki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Esa Rajamäki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the game, Manne Ruutu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Rauli Varis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 70 minutes into the game, Fc Baljars's Aleksanteri Riippa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aleksis Nylund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Juha-Pekka Itäluoma kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Aleksanteri Riippa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Fc Baljars's goal looked a bit too open when Esa Rajamäki came free, but Rauli Varis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juha-Pekka Itäluoma during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Fc Baljars getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Juha-Pekka Itäluoma hit a great ball. Esa Rajamäki struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Rauli Varis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kaunaa FC. The Fc Baljars manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Kaunaa FC to win.
