In the 7th match minute, Piparsidan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sulo Nurmi to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute Vesa Pihlanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tahvo Kokko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heino Blomberg charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heino Blomberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Maunosdf getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Heino Blomberg hit a great ball. Maunosdf's Tahvo Kokko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vesa Pihlanen in the 18th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Maunosdf's goal looked a bit too open when Tapani Läänelä came free, but Tahvo Kokko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vesa Pihlanen scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tahvo Kokko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jouni Kahra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rami Grönvall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Maunosdf's Rami Grönvall in the 27th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Jouni Kahra was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Piparsidan through an amazing save. Henrikki Keskinarkaus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jouni Kahra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rami Grönvall came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Maunosdf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rami Grönvall couldn't finish the play. Otso Joensuu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jouni Kahra having to interfere. Rami Grönvall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jouni Kahra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kimi Manneroos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Otso Joensuu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jouni Kahra having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tapani Läänelä was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rami Grönvall in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jouni Kahra saved Piparsidan from getting behind. Henrikki Keskinarkaus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jouni Kahra having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Rami Grönvall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jouni Kahra was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Maunosdf's zone, Sulo Nurmi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tahvo Kokko came out of the goal and Sulo Nurmi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute, Rami Grönvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Tapani Läänelä kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tahvo Kokko. That made the score 0-2 in the 62 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrikki Keskinarkaus in the 66th minute of play forced Piparsidan's goalkeeper Jouni Kahra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Piparsidan's Jouni Kahra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heino Blomberg in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rami Grönvall in the 71st minute of play forced Piparsidan's goalkeeper Jouni Kahra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The player immediately received a yellow card. Henrikki Keskinarkaus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pellervo Leonoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maunosdf's Tahvo Kokko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Maunosdf from getting a goal against them. When Heino Blomberg came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Maunosdf fans jumped to their feet.
