Julius Koivuporras took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Raimo Sulku. Parpola's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kolvikko IFK's Taito Uusipaavalniemi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarmo Kokko in the 5th minute of play. Taito Uusipaavalniemi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jarmo Kokko showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. If Tuomas Rajamäki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Verneri Välimäki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Raimo Sulku took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuomas Rajamäki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tuomas Rajamäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimo Sulku having to interfere. If Jarmo Kokko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Tuomas Rajamäki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimo Sulku saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarmo Kokko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarmo Kokko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taito Uusipaavalniemi having to interfere. Jarmo Kokko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Taito Uusipaavalniemi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tuomas Rajamäki was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Kolvikko IFK's zone, Jesse Salermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taito Uusipaavalniemi came out of the goal and Jesse Salermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Verneri Välimäki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raimo Sulku showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tuomas Rajamäki, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. A collision led to Kolvikko IFK getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Julius Koivuporras hit a great ball. Taito Uusipaavalniemi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarmo Kokko in the 64th minute of play. Verneri Välimäki who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Raimo Sulku when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tuomas Rajamäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimo Sulku having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Jarmo Kokko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Parpola's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarmo Kokko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Taito Uusipaavalniemi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Verneri Välimäki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Raimo Sulku tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tuomas Rajamäki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Raimo Sulku managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Kolvikko IFK's Verneri Välimäki fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Parpola booed when Kolvikko IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lassi Hautamäki didn't get a good kick on the ball.
