Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Isto Lydman got the match started through his kick off. After 4 minutes, Patrik Tuominen made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Karsikko's Allan Hagelberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Uoti Strömberg scored 1-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Samuel Toivonen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Isto Lydman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patrik Tuominen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Samuel Toivonen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Taavetti Kiprusoff's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Samuel Toivonen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Taavetti Kiprusoff in the 21st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Urho Sanevuori managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karsikko's supporters rose to their feet, but Urho Sanevuori was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Toivonen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Salmelanmäki getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Jalmari Pihlanen hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, Taavetti Kiprusoff dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Samuel Toivonen, 2-1. After 29 minutes, Uoti Strömberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karsikko and the Salmelanmäki players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th minute, Uoti Strömberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience cheered when Petteri Tikkanen's long shot passed Allan Hagelberg's right side. It was 2-2, 30 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Salmelanmäki's Samuel Toivonen got control of the ball when Hannu Eloranta tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 38 played minutes Salmelanmäki got a freekick which was hit by Jalmari Pihlanen. Samuel Toivonen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Taavetti Kiprusoff showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 41 minute of play. In the 45th minute, Karsikko's Taavetti Kiprusoff ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Samuel Toivonen. Samuel Toivonen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-2. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-2 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Taavetti Kiprusoff to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Taavetti Kiprusoff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Patrik Tuominen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Taavetti Kiprusoff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Taavetti Kiprusoff in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Samuel Toivonen saved Salmelanmäki from getting behind. Sami Tuomainen's late challenge caught a Karsikko's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sami Tuomainen helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Karsikko booed when Salmelanmäki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karsikko's Urho Sanevuori got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Patrik Tuominen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salmelanmäki's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrik Tuominen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Toivonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urho Sanevuori, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 75 minutes, Iiro Laukka mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salmelanmäki and the Karsikko players grew even worse after the yellow card. Salmelanmäki's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taavetti Kiprusoff in the 80th minute of play forced Salmelanmäki's goalkeeper Samuel Toivonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Kari Roiha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salmelanmäki's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Karsikko the free kick. Kari Roiha hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Karsikko's Allan Hagelberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Karsikko from getting a goal against them. Taavetti Kiprusoff might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Samuel Toivonen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Taavetti Kiprusoff ran back to his position shaking his head. Karsikko's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
