Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Akram Mowafak started the match with the kick off. Deyab Hisham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 6 minutes, Fayez Hussien mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abukir and the Alexandrie players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes Alexandrie got a freekick which was hit by Yasser Amr. 9 minutes into the match, Alexandrie's goal looked a bit too open when Wael Fathy came free, but Abdel Monsef Fares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wael Fathy struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Abdel Monsef Fares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abukir. When Deyab Hisham came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Alexandrie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deyab Hisham couldn't finish the play. Abdel Monsef Fares came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Abukir's Wael Fathy. But to his dismay, Wael Fathy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Alexandrie's Akram Mowafak got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wael Fathy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdel Monsef Fares having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Abukir's goalkeeper Hamada Hany had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Deyab Hisham. When Yasser Amr fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alexandrie's protests and gave Yasser Amr a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Abukir booed when Alexandrie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yasser Amr didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute of the match Abukir got a corner. Alexandrie's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Akram Nayef ran over to the corner to take the kick. Akram Mowafak struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Hamada Hany didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alexandrie. After the first half Abukir were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wael Fathy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Abukir's zone, Deyab Hisham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamada Hany came out of the goal and Deyab Hisham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Bahaa Mubarak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Akram Nayef took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Abdel Monsef Fares. Alexandrie's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Bahaa Mubarak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alexandrie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abukir the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wael Fathy in the 67th minute of play forced Alexandrie's goalkeeper Abdel Monsef Fares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th match minute, Abukir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yousif Ezz to maneuver through the defense. Fareed El-Yamani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78th play minutes Wael Fathy shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Abdel Monsef Fares and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deyab Hisham in the 83rd minute of play forced Abukir's goalkeeper Hamada Hany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Abukir's Yousif Ezz got a free kick in the 84th minute. The supporters of Abukir booed when Alexandrie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yasser Amr didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Abukir had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
