Sha`sha`
Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27,
Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Fahed Hanafy made the kick off and thus started the match. The supporters of Sha`sha` booed when Syria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salem Samir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hossam Barakat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fahed Hanafy, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Hatem Sameeh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdel Hameed Mortada having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Hatem Sameeh could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Abdel Hameed Mortada however easily saved by the left post. 20 minutes into the game, Kamouna Baher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Syria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sha`sha` the free kick. Abdel Wahab Shams was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Hatem Sameeh got in the 24th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Abdel Hameed Mortada handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Mostafa in the 27th minute of play forced Syria's goalkeeper Abdel Hameed Mortada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Syria getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Gamal Moamen hit a great ball. In the 30th minute of the match Sha`sha` got a corner. Syria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abdel Wahab Shams ran over to the corner to take the kick. Abdel Wahab Shams made a great header on Sha`sha`'s corner, it was just that Syria's Abdel Hameed Mortada managed to reach the ball for a save. Faisal Samy kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Hossam Barakat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maher El-Sakka's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. After 36 played minutes Sha`sha` got a freekick which was hit by Talaat Mahdy. In the 38thth minute of the game Fahed Hanafy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sha`sha`'s Hossam Barakat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maher El-Sakka in the 42nd minute of play forced Sha`sha`'s goalkeeper Hossam Barakat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hossam Barakat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maher El-Sakka in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Talaat Mahdy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
After having played for 53 minutes, Maher El-Sakka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Syria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maher El-Sakka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hossam Barakat was a little too slow when Fahed Hanafy got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-1. Gamal Moamen took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hossam Barakat. Hossam Barakat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Hatem Sameeh came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Sha`sha` fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hatem Sameeh couldn't finish the play. Ali Mostafa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abdel Hameed Mortada having to make a save. Syria's Abdel Hameed Mortada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hatem Sameeh in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Syria's Kamouna Baher got a free kick in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Mostafa in the 84th minute of play forced Syria's goalkeeper Abdel Hameed Mortada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Mostafa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdel Hameed Mortada having to interfere. Abdel Hameed Mortada came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Sha`sha`'s Hatem Sameeh. But to his dismay, Hatem Sameeh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The Syria players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
