Qasem Zidan might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baher Wael. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Qasem Zidan ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 6th minute, Barakat Ismail got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hatem Saad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mahmoud Shawky having to interfere. If Barakat Ismail had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mahmoud Shawky took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Besheer Emam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mahmoud Shawky made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hatem Saad in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Besheer Emam left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ahly SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ahly SC's Besheer Emam got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ahly SC booed when Sandanahur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ameer Barakat didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sandanahur's zone, Besheer Emam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mahmoud Shawky came out of the goal and Besheer Emam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Besheer Emam took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mahmoud Shawky. Mahmoud Shawky dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 36 minutes into the match, Ahly SC's goal looked a bit too open when Barakat Ismail came free, but Baher Wael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Besheer Emam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Mahmoud Shawky tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Sandanahur's goal looked a bit too open when Hatem Saad came free, but Mahmoud Shawky reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 60 played minutes Ahly SC got a freekick which was hit by Besheer Emam. 63 minutes into the game, Riad Fareed was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sandanahur's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ahly SC the free kick. Riad Fareed hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Safwat Taher sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sandanahur's Mahmoud Shawky didn't even have to move. Baher Wael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qasem Zidan in the 71st minute of the match. Ahly SC's Hatem Saad got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 89th minute of the match Hatem Saad completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hatem Saad a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 92 minutes into the match, Ahly SC's Besheer Emam sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mahmoud Shawky narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sandanahur's goalkeeper Mahmoud Shawky, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Besheer Emam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ahly SC played a much better game than Sandanahur and deserved their victory. The Sandanahur players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
