Riad Walid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mostafa Samy, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Mostafa Samy struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Riad Walid didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nawai. When Qarmuz's Basel Kamouna in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nawai's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Qarmuz's zone, Mostafa Samy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Riad Walid came out of the goal and Mostafa Samy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Qarmuz defense, Fouad Fikry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Riad Walid. The Qarmuz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Riad Walid should have stopped the shot. Fouad Fikry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Riad Walid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Nawai's goalkeeper Hamada Sallam had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Naguib Moheb. Naguib Moheb could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Hamada Sallam made a huge save. In the 41st minute Mostafa Samy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Riad Walid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 played minutes Qarmuz got a freekick which was hit by Mahgoub Taimour. Riad Walid took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mostafa Samy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basel Kamouna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Nawai were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fouad Fikry to strike the kick off in the second half. Hamada Sallam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basel Kamouna in the 52nd minute of the match. Naguib Moheb struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Hamada Sallam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Qarmuz. When Emam Mahgoub fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nawai's protests and gave Emam Mahgoub a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 played minutes Nawai got a freekick which was hit by Emam Mahgoub. In the 58th minute Basel Kamouna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamada Sallam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mostafa Samy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Riad Walid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riad Walid was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Fouad Fikry capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fouad Fikry really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Basel Kamouna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Mostafa Samy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nawai's supporters rose to their feet, but Mostafa Samy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Riad Walid breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Riad Walid was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fouad Fikry showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 88 minute of play. Burhan Aaser hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
