Sellum's Anwar Ashraf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waheed Hossam in the 38th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Hamdy Emam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sinjilf's supporters rose to their feet, but Hamdy Emam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anwar Ashraf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Sellum's Ramadan Nasir got a free kick in the 41st minute. When Riad El-Saeed came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Sellum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Riad El-Saeed couldn't finish the play. Sinjilf's Mubarak Sobhy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramadan Nasir in the 48th minute of play.

They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sinjilf would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
