Hallaba's Adel Kareem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kareem Sobhy in the 4th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Lateef Kordy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hallaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Lateef Kordy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Monzer Mamdouh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shusha's Moamen Helal got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Hallaba booed when Shusha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samer Zidan didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Abdel Hameed Sameeh came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Hallaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdel Hameed Sameeh couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Bahy Ramzy's late challenge caught a Shusha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hallaba. Barakat Aemara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Hallaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdel Hameed Sameeh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
