The Tuhuriya fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maged Hatem should have stopped the shot. Moataz Raouf was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nedal Fares showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 28 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Yassine Salah's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maged Hatem was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Rasheed Mourad charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 45th minute, Yassine Salah made a precise shot to the right of Maged Hatem. Tuhuriya's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After the first half Assouan were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nedal Fares made a kick off. The Assouan fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Assouan's Ahmed Belal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Serag Ali's late challenge caught a Tuhuriya's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serag Ali helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Assouan getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Serag Ali hit a great ball. Yassine Salah's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Maged Hatem firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 69th minute of the match Maher Naguib sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maged Hatem skillfully saved the ball. Ahmed Belal had several of the Tuhuriya's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 70 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Maged Hatem as he didn't even see the shot coming. Khalil Helal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Abdou Aino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Moataz Raouf. Assouan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abdou Aino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. The supporters of Assouan booed when Tuhuriya was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raslan Faisal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ahmed Belal struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Maged Hatem didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Assouan. After a rather tough play, Tuhuriya's Islam Hany got a free kick in the 88th minute. Moataz Raouf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nedal Fares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Khalil Helal got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 93rd minute, Khalil Helal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Assouan walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
