In the 14th minute Hanafy Mohab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hossam Moataz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. gen's Hany Mowafak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yehia Wael in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Hanafy Mohab cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Hossam Moataz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hossam Moataz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hanafy Mohab in the 21st minute of play. In the 27th minute, Jinah's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Taher Nedal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 29th minute Hanafy Mohab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hossam Moataz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The long shot by Hassan Khaled in the 32nd minute really tested Hossam Moataz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of gen booed when Jinah was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magdy Tamer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Taher Nedal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute, Hanafy Mohab ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hossam Moataz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0.

In the 51st match minute, Jinah was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amgad Akram to maneuver through the defense. After 52 played minutes, gen's Fouad Sallam shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hossam Moataz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in gen reached it. After a rather tough play, Jinah's Amgad Akram got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Galal Nabil might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hossam Moataz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Galal Nabil ran back to his position shaking his head. After 59 played minutes gen got a freekick which was hit by Mortada Ehab. Kamel Marwan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hossam Moataz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hanafy Mohab in the 64th minute of play. Hany Mowafak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yehia Wael's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. A collision led to gen getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Burhan Hassan hit a great ball. If Magdy Tamer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Hakeem Medhat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hossam Moataz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taher Nedal in the 76th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Jinah defense, Hanafy Mohab kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hossam Moataz. The Jinah fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hossam Moataz should have stopped the shot. After 83 played minutes gen got a freekick which was hit by Burhan Hassan. 86 minutes into the match, Jinah's goal looked a bit too open when Hakeem Medhat came free, but Hossam Moataz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jinah's Hossam Moataz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hakeem Medhat in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Jinah's goal looked a bit too open when Hanafy Mohab came free, but Hossam Moataz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 96 minutes, Rabie Desouqy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the gen and the Jinah players grew even worse after the yellow card.
