The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of FC Rebane booed when Liykyula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alo Õnnepalu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arno Hurm hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paul Vanaliin got free with Roomet Rahu in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roomet Rahu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georg Lehemets, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 32 minutes into the game, when Anselmo Donato put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of FC Rebane:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Liykyula:s goal. Ander Jõe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernst Mahlamaa in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to Liykyula getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Sulev Hanni hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernst Mahlamaa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paul Vanaliin's late challenge caught a FC Rebane's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paul Vanaliin helped the player get up and apologised. If Ernst Mahlamaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ernst Mahlamaa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ander Jõe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Georg Lehemets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roomet Rahu having to interfere. Ernst Mahlamaa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Ander Jõe made a huge save. 71 minutes into the game, Liykyula's Arno Hurm nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roomet Rahu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Georg Lehemets scored 4-1 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roomet Rahu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Liykyula's zone, Ernst Mahlamaa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ander Jõe came out of the goal and Ernst Mahlamaa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, FC Rebane's goal looked a bit too open when Georg Lehemets came free, but Roomet Rahu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roomet Rahu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Vanaliin in the 85th minute of the match. FC Rebane's Roomet Rahu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georg Lehemets in the 89th minute of play. The throw-in from Sulev Hanni in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Rebane's Neeme Naba. Roomet Rahu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Georg Lehemets went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Liykyula's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
