The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Tauno Vainamäe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the game, Udo Kadarpik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paikuse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pajupea the free kick. After 9 played minutes Paikuse got a freekick which was hit by Udo Kadarpik. 14 minutes into the match, Paikuse's goal looked a bit too open when Ago Vilu came free, but Aabel Trummi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gunnar Uustalu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Helger Vabamüürlane. Gunnar Uustalu didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 37th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. If Hugo Elts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ago Vilu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aabel Trummi didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 52nd minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Erik Rõuks short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Aabel Trummi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 59 played minutes Ago Vilu rounded Paikuse's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2. Tauno Vainamäe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Pajupea's Rene Kalmus got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 70th match minute, Paikuse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tauno Vainamäe to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Pajupea's zone, Tauno Vainamäe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gunnar Uustalu came out of the goal and Tauno Vainamäe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hugo Elts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunnar Uustalu having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Ago Vilu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tauno Vainamäe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Gunnar Uustalu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gunnar Uustalu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Elts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robi Laanemaa charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robi Laanemaa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Paikuse booed when Pajupea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robi Laanemaa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute, Tauno Vainamäe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ago Vilu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Rõuk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aabel Trummi having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, Paikuse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sander Trolla to maneuver through the defense. Paikuse's Olaf Uudikas suffered a torn muscle in his knee after 94 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Robi Laanemaa was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 95th minute, Robi Laanemaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
