When Kalle Ärsis came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the FC Aburi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kalle Ärsis couldn't finish the play. Laadla JK's Koit Lepisk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eiko Jõekallas in the 7th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute Eiko Jõekallas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Koit Lepisk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maarek Rajur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kalle Ärsis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steve Leier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Priidu Kapsi, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. FC Aburi's Steve Leier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Priidu Kapsi in the 40th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Priidu Kapsi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Steve Leier, 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kalle Ärsis to make the kick off. Veikko Ojamaa's late challenge caught a Laadla JK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Veikko Ojamaa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Laadla JK booed when FC Aburi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. The referee ignored FC Aburi's protests and gave Egert Voltri a yellow card for diving instead.
