The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rando Lani during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Puurmani's Väino Leo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vambola Kruus in the 26th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vambola Kruus to make the kick off. Mihkel Mäidu's late challenge caught a Puurmani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihkel Mäidu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th match minute, Khundima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihkel Mäidu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Puurmani's Väino Leo got control of the ball when Vambola Kruus tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 97th play minutes Vambola Kruus shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Väino Leo and just under the crossbar into goal.
