In the 7th match minute, Viruvere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lembitu Volberg to maneuver through the defense. Viruvere's Ats Salmistu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Viruvere from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, Somera's Hillar Trolla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ats Salmistu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Viruvere:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Somera:s goal. Argo Kotkas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ats Salmistu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hardi Hääl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaljo Alt hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. If Arnold Ohaka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Viruvere's zone, Hillar Trolla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ats Salmistu came out of the goal and Hillar Trolla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 33 played minutes, Viruvere's Lembitu Volberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paavo Vee came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Viruvere reached it. Viruvere's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Hardi Hääl 35 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Viruvere were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Somera's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Raul Haavel took the corner. After taking down the ball on Viruvere's corner Raul Haavel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Paavo Vee quite easily take care of the ball. In the 45thth minute of the game Hardi Hääl who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viruvere's Ats Salmistu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Hillar Trolla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 47th minute, Hardi Hääl reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ats Salmistu. The goal made the score 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sulev Laurits was the one to do the kick off. Ats Salmistu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hillar Trolla, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 63rd minute, Kaljo Alt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hillar Trolla might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ats Salmistu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hillar Trolla ran back to his position shaking his head. Viruvere's Ats Salmistu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hillar Trolla in the 67th minute of play. Sulev Laurits fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paavo Vee having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sulev Laurits in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paavo Vee prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 72 minutes into the match, Arnold Ohaka notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Somera's Paavo Vee. Paavo Vee was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hillar Trolla struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Ats Salmistu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Somera. After having played for 93 minutes, Sulev Laurits managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Viruvere's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sulev Laurits was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paavo Vee made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harri Veetõusme in the 95th minute. In the 98th minute, Hillar Trolla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Somera's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
