The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Liis Rääbis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivari Aruväli, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timo Pärna during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 7 played minutes SK Paystu got a freekick which was hit by Timo Pärna. In the 8th minute, Kalju Latikas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Heinrich Karus hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Yarvekyulya's Urmo Kaare couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SK Paystu. If Ivari Aruväli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Johannes Härg fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yarvekyulya's protests and gave Johannes Härg a yellow card for diving instead. Ivari Aruväli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Liis Rääbis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tõnu Muuga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alo Vabadus kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When Ivari Aruväli came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the SK Paystu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivari Aruväli couldn't finish the play. After 26 minutes of play Yarvekyulya's Johannes Härg was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 26 played minutes Yarvekyulya got a freekick which was hit by Johannes Härg. Ivari Aruväli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Liis Rääbis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Yarvekyulya got a freekick which was hit by Rudolf Agar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Ivari Aruväli made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Yarvekyulya's zone, Ivari Aruväli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Liis Rääbis came out of the goal and Ivari Aruväli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Heinrich Karus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Liis Rääbis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alo Vabadus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vambola Salusaar having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Tõnu Muuga in the 61st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Vambola Salusaar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agur Valgma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guido Bärengrub hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Agur Valgma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolf Agar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Vambola Salusaar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tõnu Muuga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 80 minutes, Alo Vabadus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yarvekyulya and the SK Paystu players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Yarvekyulya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alo Vabadus to maneuver through the defense. Tõnu Muuga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liis Rääbis having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Ivari Aruväli managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Paystu's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivari Aruväli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liis Rääbis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 89 minutes into the match, Yarvekyulya's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Bärengrub came free, but Liis Rääbis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ivari Aruväli came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the SK Paystu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivari Aruväli couldn't finish the play.
