Mart Väärsi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vello Ise, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Kaku booed when FC Pauliku was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tauno Lints didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerd Alasoo got free with Mart Väärsi in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

With an all-out effort, FC Pauliku's Rudolf Villand threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Otto Leppik, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gerd Alasoo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Mart Väärsi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
