Eedi Vooremäe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 9th minute, Liis Taelma left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tonumaa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Taimo Mahlamaa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tonumaa's Neeme Valgma. Neeme Valgma was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tonumaa's Kuido Haud got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Neeme Valgma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eedi Vooremäe in the 23rd minute. Voldemar Udu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neeme Valgma having to interfere. Neeme Valgma was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mati Niidu. Inter's Voldemar Udu got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the game, Rait Juurikas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tonumaa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter the free kick. In the 42nd match minute, Tonumaa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rait Juurikas to maneuver through the defense. Neeme Valgma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Voldemar Udu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eedi Vooremäe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Neeme Valgma made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Tonumaa's Neeme Valgma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eedi Vooremäe in the 54th minute of play. Neeme Valgma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Voldemar Udu in the 56th minute of the match. Eedi Vooremäe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neeme Valgma having to interfere. Voldemar Udu took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Neeme Valgma. Neeme Valgma dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Toivo Kütt's late challenge caught a Inter's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toivo Kütt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, Ander Kallaste got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Agu Naaskel charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agu Naaskel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Agu Naaskel kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match.
