Iakchos Saatsakis came out of the goal and Anios Nikolakakos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ikarios Papoutsis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aison Liatos having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anios Nikolakakos in the 16th minute of play forced LAST SEASON's goalkeeper Iakchos Saatsakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iakchos Saatsakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eumaios Kosmas in the 17th minute of the match. Eumaios Kosmas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Vafiokhóri's Anios Nikolakakos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iakchos Saatsakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marios Rachiotis charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marios Rachiotis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes LAST SEASON got a freekick which was hit by Marios Rachiotis. If Eumaios Kosmas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Anios Nikolakakos came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Vafiokhóri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anios Nikolakakos couldn't finish the play. Iakchos Saatsakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eumaios Kosmas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Vafiokhóri's Eumaios Kosmas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iakchos Saatsakis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eumaios Kosmas struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Iakchos Saatsakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vafiokhóri. Anios Nikolakakos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iakchos Saatsakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anios Nikolakakos in the 39th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, LAST SEASON's goal looked a bit too open when Anios Nikolakakos came free, but Iakchos Saatsakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Spiros Brisimitzakis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aison Liatos was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Marios Rachiotis was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Vafiokhóri booed when LAST SEASON was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marios Rachiotis didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Vafiokhóri's Anios Nikolakakos in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Eumaios Kosmas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Iakchos Saatsakis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Kimon Demakis fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LAST SEASON's protests and gave Kimon Demakis a yellow card for diving instead. Kimon Demakis kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. LAST SEASON's Iakchos Saatsakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anios Nikolakakos in the 88th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Vafiokhóri eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
