In the 6th minute, Xirochóri's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Panagiotis Gravari fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 8 minutes into the match, Laios Koustoubos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thanos Eliopoulos. Gonía BC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laios Koustoubos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thanos Eliopoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kolonos Tekosis, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Thanos Eliopoulos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kolonos Tekosis in the 16th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Kolonos Tekosis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanos Eliopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chronis Paloumbas charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chronis Paloumbas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Gonía BC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Chronis Paloumbas hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laios Koustoubos in the 21st minute of play forced Gonía BC's goalkeeper Thanos Eliopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanos Eliopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laios Koustoubos in the 25th minute of play. If Panagiotis Gravari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Timos Diakogeorgiou fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xirochóri's protests and gave Timos Diakogeorgiou a yellow card for diving instead. Gonía BC's Salmakis Gavril shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 36th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Alkmaion Demakis but with some difficulty. If Kolonos Tekosis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanos Eliopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laios Koustoubos in the 40th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laios Koustoubos in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thanos Eliopoulos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute, Laios Koustoubos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Gonía BC's Chronis Paloumbas got a free kick in the 46th minute. Xirochóri's Laios Koustoubos got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Laios Koustoubos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thanos Eliopoulos having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Kolonos Tekosis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th match minute, Gonía BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ptolemeus Dasios to maneuver through the defense. Kolonos Tekosis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Thanos Eliopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chronis Paloumbas was shown his second yellow card after 66 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Xirochóri booed when Gonía BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chronis Paloumbas didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Alexandros Giangos from long distance, 68 minutes into the match, got Thanos Eliopoulos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The supporters of Gonía BC booed when Xirochóri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilias Polychronopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panagiotis Gravari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Alkmaion Demakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kolonos Tekosis might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thanos Eliopoulos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kolonos Tekosis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 79th minute, Kolonos Tekosis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Xirochóri fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Kolonos Tekosis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aiolos Kalogeria's late challenge caught a Xirochóri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanos Eliopoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laios Koustoubos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
