Steaua Bucuresti's Apsyrtos Vrettos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Steaua Bucuresti from getting a goal against them. Yeorgouléïka's Tassos Garofalis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phaiakes Taflambas in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Steaua Bucuresti booed when Yeorgouléïka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tantalos Manoukarakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giorgos Skouzas charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giorgos Skouzas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Steaua Bucuresti's Ekhemos Kouropoulos in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Alkibiades Angelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Apsyrtos Vrettos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alkibiades Angelis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Apsyrtos Vrettos came out and tried to block the shot, but Alkibiades Angelis slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ekhemos Kouropoulos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Ekhemos Kouropoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tassos Garofalis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yeorgouléïka's Phoibos Vardakas got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute, one of Steaua Bucuresti:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Steaua Bucuresti. The referee gave Yeorgouléïka a penalty, 61 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Phoibos Antoniou, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Steaua Bucuresti's Apsyrtos Vrettos. 2-0. Spiros Maneates blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Apsyrtos Vrettos having to make a save. In the 67th match minute, Yeorgouléïka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thorikos Vrettos to maneuver through the defense. Spiros Maneates recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Spiros Maneates received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Apsyrtos Vrettos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Alkibiades Angelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apsyrtos Vrettos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Briarios Sardelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tassos Garofalis having to interfere. After 87 played minutes Yeorgouléïka got a freekick which was hit by Arkas Letsos. Phaiakes Taflambas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Phaiakes Taflambas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tassos Garofalis was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1.
