An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Inakhos Angavanakis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Kithairon Antonopoulos fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borussia Dortmund's protests and gave Kithairon Antonopoulos a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Kithairon Antonopoulos. In the 6th minute, Keleus Alexis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aigimios Paschalis. The goal made the score 1-0. Stelios Stamatas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kolonos Tourna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kolonos Tourna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the game, Kalkhas Fotiadis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Candia BC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borussia Dortmund the free kick. In the 12th minute, Kalkhas Fotiadis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Candia BC's Ademtos Christakos got a free kick in the 16th minute. Iakobos Kaisaris's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stelios Stamatas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Agesilaus Demarchis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aigimios Paschalis came out and tried to block the shot, but Agesilaus Demarchis slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 21st minute. 29 minutes into the game, Inakhos Angavanakis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Aigimios Paschalis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Inakhos Angavanakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Aigimios Paschalis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Inakhos Angavanakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Kolonos Tourna took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Stelios Stamatas to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Inakhos Angavanakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candia BC's supporters rose to their feet, but Inakhos Angavanakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aigimios Paschalis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute, Keleus Alexis made a precise shot to the right of Aigimios Paschalis. Borussia Dortmund's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. In the 75th minute of the match, Kolonos Tourna tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Stelios Stamatas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 77 minutes, Inakhos Angavanakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Candia BC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inakhos Angavanakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kolonos Tourna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
