In the 4th minute, Svetamir Tikhonov fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Konstantin Volkov charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Konstantin Volkov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th match minute, Grodno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Konstantin Volkov to maneuver through the defense. Grodno's Arkady Alekseichik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Grodno from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the game, Grodno's Svetamir Tikhonov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arkady Alekseichik made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Prohar Mesechko kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Mateush Nikanov sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Grodno's Arkady Alekseichik didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oles Kurilin in the 23rd minute of play forced Grodno's goalkeeper Arkady Alekseichik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vyacheslav Rukevich during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Grodno getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Vyacheslav Rukevich hit a great ball. Viktor Surovtsov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erofey Kurmanovich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 minutes, Svetaslav Kazulin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grodno and the Grodno players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Miron Milukevich put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Viktor Surovtsov. Grodno's Miron Milukevich got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Oles Kurilin made the kick off in the second half. Grodno's Arkady Alekseichik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svetamir Tikhonov in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute Svetamir Tikhonov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arkady Alekseichik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Grodno's corner Mateush Nikanov fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arkady Alekseichik quite easily take care of the ball. Miron Milukevich kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Svetamir Tikhonov in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arkady Alekseichik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Svetamir Tikhonov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 68 minutes, Miron Milukevich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grodno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miron Milukevich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oles Kurilin in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arkady Alekseichik saved Grodno from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oles Kurilin in the 75th minute of play forced Grodno's goalkeeper Arkady Alekseichik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oles Kurilin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Miron Milukevich left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grodno fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After 90 minutes, Vladimir Nizevich mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grodno and the Grodno players grew even worse after the yellow card.
