Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gorki's Leonid Kostitsin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bogdan Sitnikov kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Aleksandr Makarevich notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Gorki's Anatoly Pashkevich. Anatoly Pashkevich was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aleksandr Makarevich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Genady Bondarev's late challenge caught a Gorki's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Genady Bondarev helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gorki booed when Minsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genady Bondarev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filimon Kalinkevich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Vitaly Zabalotsky tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aleksandr Makarevich in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anatoly Pashkevich, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 24thth minute of the game Timofey Yudin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gorki's Anatoly Pashkevich was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute Timofey Yudin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anatoly Pashkevich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitaly Zabalotsky showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filimon Kalinkevich in the 28th minute of the match. Vitaly Zabalotsky took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filimon Kalinkevich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2-0 became the score in the 35th minute when Timofey Yudin elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Leonid Kostitsin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd match minute, Minsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeuz Bogdanov to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Timofey Yudin made a kick off. Timofey Yudin struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Anatoly Pashkevich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Minsk. Aleksandr Makarevich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Anatoly Pashkevich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anatoly Pashkevich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timofey Yudin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boris Butsevich hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. If Aleksandr Makarevich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69thth minute of the game Timofey Yudin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gorki's Anatoly Pashkevich was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vitaly Zabalotsky made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Filimon Kalinkevich sent off a good shot on target. Timofey Yudin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Timofey Yudin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anatoly Pashkevich having to interfere. Aleksandr Makarevich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 minutes, Maksim Ramashevich mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gorki and the Minsk players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gorki's Maksim Ramashevich got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 88th minute, Minsk's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Leonid Kostitsin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Filimon Kalinkevich might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vitaly Zabalotsky. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Filimon Kalinkevich ran back to his position shaking his head. Anatoly Pashkevich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timofey Yudin, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Minsk had won after a very even match.
