Minsk's Vitaly Zabalotsky played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genady Doroshevich in the 7th minute of play. Polotsk's Filimon Karsakovich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timofey Yudin in the 8th minute of play. Svetamir Magrovich kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Minsk's Genady Makovsky broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Timofey Yudin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filimon Karsakovich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksandr Makarevich in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Polotsk getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Svetamir Magrovich hit a great ball. Timofey Yudin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th minute Timofey Yudin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filimon Karsakovich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleksandr Makarevich in the 28th minute of play forced Polotsk's goalkeeper Filimon Karsakovich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Konstantin Takushevich's late challenge caught a Minsk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Konstantin Takushevich helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Minsk booed when Polotsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konstantin Takushevich didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mikita Kuznetsov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Minsk's Timofey Yudin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Filimon Karsakovich. That made the score 2-1 after 52 minutes of play. If Genady Doroshevich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 2-2 became the score in the 62nd minute when Aleksandr Makarevich elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Mikita Kuznetsov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitaly Zabalotsky having to interfere. Vitaly Zabalotsky made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genady Doroshevich in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timofey Yudin in the 78th minute of play forced Polotsk's goalkeeper Filimon Karsakovich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Minsk's zone, Mikita Kuznetsov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitaly Zabalotsky came out of the goal and Mikita Kuznetsov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Timofey Yudin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Filimon Karsakovich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Timofey Yudin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Minsk walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
