Boris Nikulich hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Vitaly Panukevich was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sergey Petrov. Rastislav Chumachenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vitaly Panukevich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mechyslav Fateev, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. University of Washington's Vitaly Panukevich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rastislav Chumachenko in the 19th minute of play. Vitaly Panukevich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rastislav Chumachenko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kobrin's Vasily Levashenko shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 26th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vitaly Panukevich but with some difficulty. Sergey Konovalov hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Leonid Baranov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute, Vaslav Lamanovich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When University of Washington's Leonid Baranov in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kobrin's goalie prevented a goal. University of Washington's Frol Spiridonov got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Kobrin getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Mscislav Skabelko hit a great ball. After having played for 37 minutes, Leonid Baranov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. University of Washington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonid Baranov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. University of Washington's Vitaly Panukevich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save University of Washington from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Rastislav Chumachenko in the 56th minute of play forced University of Washington's goalkeeper Vitaly Panukevich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Leonid Baranov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Georgij Matvienko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frol Spiridonov hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Mechyslav Fateev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the game, Kobrin's Rastislav Chumachenko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vitaly Panukevich made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 84 minutes into the game, Leonid Baranov recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Georgij Matvienko. Leonid Baranov showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. 88 minutes into the match, Kobrin's goal looked a bit too open when Leonid Baranov came free, but Georgij Matvienko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Georgij Matvienko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonid Baranov, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. University of Washington's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
