When Konstantin Ignatovsky came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Gomel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Konstantin Ignatovsky couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gomel's goalkeeper Staneslav Kischuk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aleksey Saladukha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Konstantin Ignatovsky struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. In the 77th minute, Aleksey Saladukha made a precise shot to the right of Arkady Nekrashevich. Lida's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Arkady Nekrashevich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Konstantin Ignatovsky, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Konstantin Ignatovsky fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arkady Nekrashevich having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Konstantin Ignatovsky shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arkady Nekrashevich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filimon Erohin in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Staneslav Kischuk saved Gomel from getting behind. Gomel's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
