Andrey Martynov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Mikita Novikov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Minsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Kaluzniy to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Minsk's protests and gave Andrey Agakov a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Minsk got a freekick which was hit by Andrey Agakov. 48 minutes into the match, Borisov's Kastus Zabelsky broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
