Ilia Bondarev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Semen Popov's late challenge caught a Baranovichi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Semen Popov helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Baranovichi booed when Brest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Semen Popov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marat Rulkevich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladislav Mihanovich in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Brest's Boris Rakov got a free kick in the 18th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Baranovichi's goal looked a bit too open when Ilia Bondarev came free, but Prohar Gvozdev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Baranovichi getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Aleksey Belkin hit a great ball. Ilia Bondarev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prohar Gvozdev having to interfere. In the 29th minute Vladislav Mihanovich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marat Rulkevich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radislav Novik got free with Marat Rulkevich in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Baranovichi's goal looked a bit too open when Mikola Drozd came free, but Prohar Gvozdev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Radislav Novik might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marat Rulkevich. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Radislav Novik ran back to his position shaking his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Prohar Gvozdev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mikola Drozd in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 56th minute Mikola Drozd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prohar Gvozdev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th match minute, Baranovichi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergey Timofeev to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vladislav Mihanovich in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marat Rulkevich prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute, Boris Rakov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Prohar Gvozdev. The goal made the score 1-1. After 64 played minutes Brest got a freekick which was hit by Vadim Yarik. In the 74th minute of the match Branislav Lukashevich sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marat Rulkevich skillfully saved the ball. Igor Kanashkevich's late challenge caught a Brest's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Kanashkevich didn't get a good kick on the ball. Prohar Gvozdev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikola Drozd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee gave Brest a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Evgeny Antropov, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Baranovichi's Prohar Gvozdev. 1-2. Mikola Drozd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Radislav Novik came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Baranovichi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radislav Novik couldn't finish the play. If Vladislav Mihanovich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Boris Rakov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Radislav Novik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Mikola Drozd kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Prohar Gvozdev. That made the score 1-3 in the 99 minute of play. The Brest players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
