Vseslav Korolev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikola Drozd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 10 minutes, Mikola Drozd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brest's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mikola Drozd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 14 played minutes Brest got a freekick which was hit by Boris Rakov. After a rather tough play, Brest's Evgeny Antropov got a free kick in the 16th minute. With a little luck, Minsk's Vseslav Korolev got control of the ball when Ilia Bondarev tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot 21 in the game by Ilia Bondarev from a close distance when the talented Vseslav Korolev managed to make a qualified save. Minsk's players were relieved. In the 22nd minute Mikola Drozd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vseslav Korolev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Minsk's Fedor Rakov got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ilia Bondarev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikola Drozd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mikola Drozd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Vseslav Korolev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Minsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astap Kurilin to maneuver through the defense. Denis Tretyakov hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mikola Drozd was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Minsk getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Nester Gromov hit a great ball. Ilia Bondarev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vseslav Korolev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikola Drozd, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Fedor Rakov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Marat Rulkevich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Brest's Stepan Trusov got a free kick in the 81st minute. Brest's Marat Rulkevich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Brest from getting a goal against them. With 89 minutes on the clock, Liavon Dmitriev commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 89th match minute, Minsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liavon Dmitriev to maneuver through the defense. Miraslav Puzankevich missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 91 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Vseslav Korolev right hand side. The Minsk supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Minsk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
