Slavia 's Avgustin Zhudev got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Iskren Pisarski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of CSKA Kipilowo booed when Slavia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stoimen Yonchovski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iskren Pisarski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Elin Gashev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Iskren Pisarski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boycho Gonev's late challenge caught a CSKA Kipilowo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boycho Gonev helped the player get up and apologised. After 29 played minutes Slavia got a freekick which was hit by Boycho Gonev. Elin Gashev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iskren Pisarski in the 31st minute of the match. Elin Gashev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peycho Haydutov in the 33rd minute. When Manol Stanchov fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Slavia 's protests and gave Manol Stanchov a yellow card for diving instead. 37 minutes into the game, one of Slavia :s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave CSKA Kipilowo a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Evrosi Gurgov, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Slavia 's Elin Gashev. 1-1. In the 45th minute, Avgustin Zhudev made a precise shot to the right of Boycho Sladkarov. CSKA Kipilowo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Avgustin Zhudev to make the kick off. Elin Gashev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peycho Haydutov, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 56th minute Avgustin Zhudev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boycho Sladkarov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Slavia 's Stoycho Vladov suffered a torn muscle in his knee after 57 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 58th minute, Omurtag Kashev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. CSKA Kipilowo's Iskren Pisarski got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Iskren Pisarski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peycho Haydutov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elin Gashev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iskren Pisarski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the match, Slavia 's goal looked a bit too open when Peycho Haydutov came free, but Elin Gashev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
