The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rafail Maradzhiev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Parvan Angelakov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the match, Kopchali's goal looked a bit too open when Brunko Makariev came free, but Parvan Angelakov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brunko Makariev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Parvan Angelakov having to interfere. Galin Krúchmarov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Gerasim Dzhordzhev made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Petrushan's Anastas Smolenov got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 16th match minute, Petrushan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Vútkov to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th match minute, Kopchali was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milen Hristoskov to maneuver through the defense. Yonko Koev's late challenge caught a Petrushan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yonko Koev helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Petrushan booed when Kopchali was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yonko Koev didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Rafail Maradzhiev managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petrushan's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafail Maradzhiev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Parvan Angelakov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Kopchali:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Petrushan:s goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Petrushan's Rafail Maradzhiev in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kopchali's goalie prevented a goal. Arhangel Nedanov struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Gerasim Dzhordzhev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kopchali. After having played for 56 minutes, Arhangel Nedanov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kopchali's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arhangel Nedanov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anastas Smolenov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Parvan Angelakov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerasim Dzhordzhev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Galin Krúchmarov in the 65th minute of play. In the 70th minute Galin Krúchmarov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerasim Dzhordzhev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience cheered when Milen Hristoskov's long shot passed Gerasim Dzhordzhev's right side. It was 2-2, 79 minutes into the match. Parvan Angelakov made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Brunko Makariev sent off a good shot on target. When Galin Krúchmarov came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Kopchali fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Galin Krúchmarov couldn't finish the play. Yuri Latinov hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. When Arhangel Nedanov came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Kopchali fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arhangel Nedanov couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
