The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Antonio Púrvulov made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Yanislav Pandov sent off a good shot on target. Antonio Púrvulov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Yotzev in the 19th minute of the match. Antonio Púrvulov was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Alexander Yotzev capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alexander Yotzev really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. CSKA Papretlevo's Volodya Gergovski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dobri Gachev in the 25th minute of play. Alexander Yotzev might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antonio Púrvulov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexander Yotzev ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Dencho Belezhkov put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Volodya Gergovski. Yanislav Pandov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, FC Opaka's goalkeeper Antonio Púrvulov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yanislav Pandov. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Alexander Yotzev managed to get in a good position for a shot. CSKA Papretlevo's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexander Yotzev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Púrvulov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 43 minutes into the match, FC Opaka's goal looked a bit too open when Yanislav Pandov came free, but Antonio Púrvulov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Yotzev in the 46th minute of play forced FC Opaka's goalkeeper Antonio Púrvulov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Alexander Yotzev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CSKA Papretlevo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Yotzev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Dobri Gachev managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Opaka's supporters rose to their feet, but Dobri Gachev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 84th minute, Denislav Aladzhov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute CSKA Papretlevo were awarded a corner. Trifon Kamishev went to the cornerflag to take it. Stoyan Fichev tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Antonio Púrvulov. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-2 in the 87th minute. If Alexander Yotzev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
