After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Anatoli Bodzhov managed to get in a good position for a shot. CSKA Rovina's supporters rose to their feet, but Anatoli Bodzhov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Slavey Kúrkov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malin Búchvarov in the 14th minute of the match. Kuncho Chaev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yavor Vetov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Tzvetan Hrisimov kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. If Anton Mihov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Vihren Petrishki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 31 minutes into the game, Zhan Antimov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Slavey Kúrkov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 33rd minute, Zhelyazko Borov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th match minute, Bulgarin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malin Búchvarov to maneuver through the defense. Vihren Petrishki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yavor Vetov having to make a save. Yavor Vetov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexey Borimechkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as CSKA Rovina's Anton Mihov slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yavor Vetov. That made the score 1-1 after 44 minutes of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Mihov in the 78th minute of play forced Bulgarin's goalkeeper Yavor Vetov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Radoslav Dimkov fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bulgarin's protests and gave Radoslav Dimkov a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Anton Mihov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yavor Vetov was relentless in the 85th minute of the game.
