Elenko Pilyov kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Danail Mustakovs short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Zanko Antimov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 14th minute, Asen Gotov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zahari Pisanov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Zanko Antimov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Velizar Titev in the 17th minute of the match. Danail Mustakov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Zanko Antimov made a huge save. Danail Mustakov in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zanko Antimov, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A hard shot by Ivo Radushev from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Zanko Antimov's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Danail Mustakov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Zanko Antimov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zanko Antimov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Velizar Titev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arhangel Maynolovski hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the match, Ruskovtsu's goal looked a bit too open when Manol Rachev came free, but Zahari Pisanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Miroslav Gavalyugov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schalke04's supporters rose to their feet, but Miroslav Gavalyugov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zahari Pisanov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stoyne Kadiev kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Vaklin Kanin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zahari Pisanov. Ruskovtsu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Asen Gotov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Schalke04 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Manol Rachev made the kick off in the second half. Zahari Pisanov made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Asen Gotov sent off a good shot on target. Asen Gotov's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Zahari Pisanov skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Zahari Pisanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manol Rachev in the 54th minute of the match. Zahari Pisanov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Asen Gotov in the 57th minute. 58 minutes into the game, Manol Rachev cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Zahari Pisanov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Velizar Titev in the 62nd minute of play forced Schalke04's goalkeeper Zanko Antimov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zahari Pisanov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manol Rachev in the 66th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Vute Vúlchov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schalke04's supporters rose to their feet, but Vute Vúlchov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zahari Pisanov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute Manol Rachev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zahari Pisanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Danail Mustakov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Zanko Antimov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vute Vúlchov's late challenge caught a Ruskovtsu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vute Vúlchov helped the player get up and apologised. Zahari Pisanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manol Rachev, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Ruskovtsu's goalkeeper Zahari Pisanov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Asen Gotov. In the 90th minute, Ivo Radushev had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 90 minutes into the game, Manol Rachev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schalke04's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ruskovtsu the free kick. A collision led to Schalke04 getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Manol Rachev hit a great ball. Ganyo Serbezov took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zanko Antimov. Schalke04's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Schalke04 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
