In the 13th match minute, CSKA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boris Sveshtarov to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the game, CSKA's Vergil Stiptzarov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Trendafil Margin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Trendafil Margin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalbert Gaydardzhiev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pancho Vladislavov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yanaki Peychinov in the 20th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Evtim Kalúpchiev put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Pancho Vladislavov. If Marko Dzhorinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With his leg Pancho Vladislavov managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Great Bulgaria's Evtim Kalúpchiev fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Trendafil Margin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vergil Stiptzarov went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After 33 minutes of play, Great Bulgaria's Evtim Kalúpchiev made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pancho Vladislavov was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 36th minute, CSKA's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Evtim Kalúpchiev fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Evtim Kalúpchiev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the game, Vergil Stiptzarov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Trendafil Margin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Trendafil Margin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vergil Stiptzarov, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Marko Dzhorinski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Pancho Vladislavov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

CSKA's Pancho Vladislavov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evtim Kalúpchiev in the 52nd minute of play. Great Bulgaria's Evtim Kalúpchiev got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute Adalbert Gaydardzhiev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trendafil Margin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evtim Kalúpchiev might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pancho Vladislavov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evtim Kalúpchiev ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Adalbert Gaydardzhiev managed to get in a good position for a shot. CSKA's supporters rose to their feet, but Adalbert Gaydardzhiev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trendafil Margin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 3-3 when Evtim Kalúpchiev sped through CSKA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pancho Vladislavov. 68 minutes into the match, Evtim Kalúpchiev notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of CSKA's Pancho Vladislavov. Pancho Vladislavov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 71st minute, Yanaki Peychinov made a precise shot to the right of Pancho Vladislavov. CSKA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-3. Marko Dzhorinski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, CSKA's goal looked a bit too open when Yanaki Peychinov came free, but Pancho Vladislavov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Great Bulgaria's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Evtim Kalúpchiev in the 77th minute. Trendafil Margin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalbert Gaydardzhiev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yanaki Peychinov took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pancho Vladislavov. Pancho Vladislavov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-3. After having played for 89 minutes, Evtim Kalúpchiev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Great Bulgaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evtim Kalúpchiev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 91stth minute of the game Evtim Kalúpchiev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CSKA's Pancho Vladislavov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 93 minutes, Deyan Makazchiev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Great Bulgaria and the CSKA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th minute there was a penalty for CSKA. Velimir Mitrashkov stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Trendafil Margin. 7-4. Trendafil Margin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vergil Stiptzarov's shot from short distance in the 99th minute. Great Bulgaria's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
