CSKA's Marcus Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Velichko Trenkov in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Velichko Trenkov in the 14th minute of play forced CSKA's goalkeeper Marcus Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Velichko Trenkov's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute Tzoko Shotorov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Lloris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Noe in the 18th minute of the match. Marcus Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Yanko Gurmev sent off a good shot on target. In the 21st minute of the match ПФК Берое got a corner. CSKA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vancho Paleshutski ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of CSKA's goalie and right to Yanko Gurmev. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. CSKA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. ПФК Берое's Hugo Lloris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hristofor Dundov in the 31st minute of play. 34 minutes in the game Vergil Tzolov did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Fabrizio Tripodi. Marcus Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Velichko Trenkov in the 38th minute of play. Yanko Gurmev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Taffarel having to interfere. Marcus Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Velichko Trenkov's shot from short distance in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hristofor Dundov made a kick off. With 50 minutes on the clock, Dante Noe commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. A throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game was made by Vergil Tzolov with Fabrizio Tripodi as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Marcus Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Velichko Trenkov in the 65th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Velichko Trenkov managed to get in a good position for a shot. ПФК Берое's supporters rose to their feet, but Velichko Trenkov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Lazar Batalov came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the ПФК Берое fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lazar Batalov couldn't finish the play. Velichko Trenkov might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcus Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Velichko Trenkov ran back to his position shaking his head. ПФК Берое's Loukianos Konstantakis was substituted for Velichko Trenkov. Loukianos Konstantakis struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Marcus Taffarel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ПФК Берое. 83 minutes into the match, CSKA's goal looked a bit too open when Loukianos Konstantakis came free, but Marcus Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, ПФК Берое's Hugo Lloris got control of the ball when Tzoko Shotorov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcus Taffarel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Loukianos Konstantakis went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. ПФК Берое were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of CSKA for a fine match.
