But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bebur Torotadze couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes into the match, Marske-by-the-Sea's goal looked a bit too open when Botchia Nad came free, but Vaja Sulakvidze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Charilaos Mouzakis in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beka Pachalia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21st minute Marske-by-the-Sea were awarded a corner. Gia Andrzheevskiy went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 23rd minute, Charilaos Mouzakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute Charilaos Mouzakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beka Pachalia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bebur Torotadze could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Vaja Sulakvidze made a huge save. Marske-by-the-Sea's Vaja Sulakvidze played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Botchia Nad in the 29th minute of play. Khristesia Kobiashvili took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vaja Sulakvidze. Vaja Sulakvidze dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, Marske-by-the-Sea's goalkeeper Vaja Sulakvidze had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bebur Torotadze. Irakli Magalov came free with the goalkeeper in the 36th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vaja Sulakvidze could save by the left post. Ebley's Beka Pachalia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charilaos Mouzakis in the 38th minute of play. If Aydin Bitsadze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute Botchia Nad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vaja Sulakvidze saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vaja Sulakvidze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khristesia Kobiashvili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Marske-by-the-Sea's supporters rose to their feet, but Aydin Bitsadze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beka Pachalia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Botchia Nad in the 76th minute of play forced Marske-by-the-Sea's goalkeeper Vaja Sulakvidze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Bebur Torotadze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vaja Sulakvidze saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Khristesia Kobiashvili had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vaja Sulakvidze. Marske-by-the-Sea's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Khristesia Kobiashvili was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The Ebley fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marske-by-the-Sea had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
